Scholarship exam-Sunway trip

phew... it's finally over.

I went for a qualifying test for the ASEAN Malaysia-Brunei Scholarship to study in Singapore. Pre-University test. Man, IT WAS HARD! well, at least for me... I spent half of my holidays studying diff. and int. and none of it came out... sob sob...

Saturday's tests started at 12.++pm. It was in Sunway Convention Centre. First, we were ushered into a BIG BIG hall full with tables, i found my table(it was way infront, and we had to share tables with another person). So i waited for the other candidates to get seated. finally, the exam started. well, not before the person-in-charge to brief and to check and double check the candidtaes and yada yada yada... So FINALLY, they gave us the exam paper for maths (after MUCH MUCH fuss) and the stopwatch was started. the paper was 2 hours. the front few questions were like OK.... for me, but soon i was scratching my head with frustration. IT was HARD!!! there's a little bit maths and some add-maths. they were things i learned before but higher a level... too advanced for me, my mind couldn't work fast enough..AND, my very uncooperative stomach started to growl, i dont;t know if it was my imagination bt the growling sounded quite loud... i was so embarassed... nt to mention my bladder started to feel so full tht i couldnt stand it at all. after wat seemed like hours and hours... the P-I-C called times up(hallelujah!!!). bt sadly, they used another half an hour or so to collect the papers(i thought singaporeans should be very efficient-guess nt all of them are, man they were SLOW, they had to count and double-count, then count again...puh-lease..) my bladder nearly burst then. once they said that we could go for a short break, i flew out! (btw, the 30 min break got cut to 10min only-coz of their slow movements).

next, it was the english paper. the 1st paper was comprehension and summary. the topic-feminists. haha... 1 and a half hour. quite hard, we had to give definitions of phrases and certain words. challenging... at least i finished it. the second paper was composition, we had to write a 350 word essay in half an hour. phew.... my hand flew like mad. there were 2 options- the effect or the media or excellence should nt be based on academic achievements alone. of course i chose the 2nd option. nt a very good essay, coz there wasnt enough time. we finished at bout 7.++ pm. and i was freezing....

Sunday started at 8++ am. we had a general ability test(IQ test). it was generally ok.. tough at certain parts bt it was okay... then we were ushered into the hall again. we were given a briefing about the scholarship. yada yada yada... nt very important to me coz my chances were near zero. we were let out at bout 11.30 am. and it was OVER!!

mum took me to watch Hannah Montana the Movie to celebrate.( i'm 17 but i still like to watch this kind of movies... sigh) it was nt bad, the male lead was cute, Miley sings quite well, and overall-entertaining. then we shopped, shopped, and shopped. lunch was at a small taiwan shop- had 'OA' mien sien(see ham with mee:taiwan style) , fried chicken, rice with gravy + braised egg). quite tasty! i also bought 2 T-back shirts(T-backs RULE!!) and a pair of sports shoes. money money money....

i hope i can get that scholarship, bt there's still the interview part... i can only pray, bt cant rely on it...i'll leave it to the Almighty....amen
